Theatre
Ryhmäteatteri
Ryhmäteatteri is one of Finland's largest non-institutional theatres and an active cultural operator in Helsinki. Founded in 1967, Ryhmäteatteri is Finland's oldest professional group theatre. In spring and autumn we perform at our theatre in Kallio, and during the summer season at the Suomenlinna open-air theatre.
Arriving
Our theatre is located in the Kallio district in Helsinki, at Helsinginkatu 25.
We recommend arriving at the theatre by public transport to avoid traffic congestion and reduce emissions. Several tram lines run right next to us, and closest metro station is 750 meters away in Sörnäinen. There is no customer parking at the theatre. There are metered parking spaces on Helsinginkatu and Kirstinkatu.
Cafe Bar
Our theatre has a Cafe Bar that is open one hour before the performance and during intermission. The Cafe Bar sells drinks and snacks.
Due to the limited size of our facilities, it is challenging for us to accommodate advance orders for intermission. We will accommodate requests as best we can. If you would like to make a pre-order request, please contact kahvio@ryhmateatteri.fi.
Cloakroom
You can leave your coat and other belongings in the guarded cloakroom during the performance. The cloakroom service is included in the ticket price.
Accessibility
Tickets
A ticket for an assisting person for accessibility reasons is free of charge. There is one wheelchair slot in our auditorium. Book wheelchair and assistant tickets at Ryhmäteatteri's own ticket office.
Facilities
Our auditorium is located in the basement floor, and is accessed via stairs. The V65 stair lift (max. 260 kg) is located at the rear entrance on the Läntinen Brahenkatu side. If you need a stair lift, please come to the main entrance on Helsinginkatu when you arrive at the theatre and ask for assistance from the cloakroom staff. Please be there at least 30 minutes before the performance starts.
The seating is unnumbered. If you need assistance in finding a suitable seat for accessibility reasons, you can ask the staff for help before the doors open.
The theater's foyer is accessible and has a wheelchair-accessible toilet.
Induction loop
The theater has Sennheiser induction loops that can be used with your own hearing aid. Ask to borrow the loops from the cafe bar.
A hotel night and a delicious breakfast to go with your theatre visit?
For accommodation, we recommend The Folks Hotel, located within walking distance of the theatre. The Folks Hotel knows how to take different needs and wishes into account. Beautiful and unique rooms, tidiness, responsible and professional staff, and an excellent breakfast are the perfect addition to a theatre visit.
